Center on Transition Innovations (CTI)

Virginia Commonwealth University's website: Center on Transition Innovations (CTI) offers rich information to support work that is being done in helping youth with disabilities achieve their full potential as they transition into adulthood. CTI will provide evidence-based resources and information along with emerging practices in the field. A cornerstone of this center is the research studies and demonstration projects conducted here in the Commonwealth.

The mission of the Center on Transition Innovation(CTI) is to enhance postsecondary outcomes for Virginia’s youth as they transition to postsecondary education, training, employment and adult life. CTI is dedicated to improving services to youth, schools and families. The site will assist visitors in learning the evidence-based practices that are currently being implemented in Virginia, as well as research-based strategies for effective practices in many areas related to transition. CTI will outline some of the pieces and parts of the transition process and provide visitors an opportunity to explore and enhance their knowledge of assessment tools, inventive employment solutions, living independently in the community, postsecondary education/ training options and youth development. CTI strives to improve the future for Virginia’s youth with disabilities.
