The company that operates disAbilityNavigator is SeniorNavigator®. SeniorNavigator is a 501c3 not-for-profit charity. We hope you feel comfortable using disAbilityNavigator. Personal Information We Collect:

  • Children's Privacy:  disAbilityNavigator is intended for adults age 18 and older. This website is not intended, or designed, for children under 13 years of age. We do not knowingly collect personal identifiable information from anyone under the age of 13.

  • If You Send Us Email:  You may choose to share personal information, through an email, with comments or questions. We use this information to improve our service to you or to respond to your request. There are three ways to send an email through disAbilityNavigator: “Here’s What I Think”, “Ask an Expert”, and “Contact disAbilityNavigator”. Sometimes we forward your e-mail to other professionals that may be better able to help you. If we do share your email externally (as we often do in the case of “Ask an Expert”) we will remove your Personal Information so that your identity remains anonymous to them.

  • Cookies:  We do not use "persistent cookies" anywhere on our site. "Cookies" are small computer files that can be transferred to your computer's hard drive. We do analyze our website logs and user statistics to improve the value of our site. Our logs and user statistics are not personally identifiable. We do not link these logs and user statistics with individuals that view our website. We use these logs for marketing tracking as well as system performance monitoring. We review these logs for the overall, aggregate trends they reveal about our visitors, not for the behaviors of individuals. Only authorized staff have access to our website logs and user statistics. While disAbilityNavigator.org does not send cookies, some sites to which we link may send cookies. You can set your browser to disable cookies or to prompt you before a cookie is accepted.

  • Virginia:  Because disAbilityNavigator.org is a unique Internet guidebook for people with disabilities in Virginia, we do not intend to collect information from organizations and individuals located outside of the United States, including the European Union.

  • Except as described here, we will not disclose your Personal Information to any unaffiliated company. Any information provided to entities affiliated with us will be treated in accordance with this Privacy Statement.

  • We will request that each of these suppliers not further use or disclose Personal Information for any purpose other than providing us or you with products or services. Of course, we cannot guarantee their compliance with our requests.

  • We may provide information about you that does not allow you to be identified to, or contacted by, third parties ("Aggregate Information"). For example, we might inform third parties regarding the number of users of our site and the activities they conduct while on our site. Depending on the circumstances, we may or may not charge for this aggregate information.

  • We do not compile, buy, sell, rent or trade customer mailing lists.

  • Identifying information submitted through “Here’s What I Think”, “Ask an Expert”, and “Contact disAbilityNavigator” is used only to facilitate our ability to respond to you by return email, and is not used or collected by us in any way.

  • Links:  Our site includes links to other sites. If you chose to visit another site, we cannot assume responsibility for its content or information handling practices. We encourage you to review each site's privacy policy prior to entering into transactions with it.

How We Handle Privacy Internally

  • We take appropriate steps to protect your data both online and off-line. We use firewalls to protect the information on our servers. All of our staff must abide by our Privacy Policy and those who violate it are subject to disciplinary action, up to and including termination.
