Who We Are

At Virginia Beach Community Services Board, Rising Tides is a psychosocial rehabilitative day program is provided to adult residents eighteen years or older that reside in Virginia Beach, have Medicaid and have a diagnosis of developmental disability and a diagnosis of serious behavioral health disorder (SMI). The program promotes self-sufficiency and prevents hospitalization. Activities include psycho-educational and skill development activities. The program offers a variety of groups and activities including:

  • Structured groups about behavioral health disorders,
  • Symptoms coping skills,
  • Relapse prevention skills,
  • General health, exercise and nutrition skills,
  • Medication monitoring,
  • Skill building in activities of daily living,
  • Therapeutic and recreational opportunities.

The program provides activities three (3) days a week at the SkillQuest services location.
