The Development Services for adults programs consist of case management, habitation services, community living services and supports to consumers with developmental disability The goal of this community support system is to maximize each consumer's potential for independence, improved quality of life and optimum level of functioning.

Serves residents of the cities of Roanoke and Salem and the counties of Botetourt, Craig and Roanoke.

Intake Process
Call the Access Center or walk in at The Burrell Center, located at 611 McDowell Avenue, Roanoke, Virginia 24016. Children and youth may walk-in for screening without an appointment between 8:30 AM and 3:00 PM Monday through Friday. There are extended walk-in hours for children and youth intakes on Tuesdays until 4:30 PM. The children and youth entrance to the Access Center is on the left side of the main Burrell Center building, highlighted by a Children’s Access Center sign. The adult entrance remains through the main Burrell doors in the center of the building.
