Who We Are

Mayor's Commission for Persons With Disabilities can assists persons with disabilities in achieving more independent and fuller lives through promoting awareness of the needs of the disabled and providing a focal point for input from the disabled community into the city's decision-making process. Members of the Commission are appointed by City Council.



The Commission serves as an advisor to the Department of Human Services. Membership is composed of fifteen members that are citizens of the City and appointed by the council. Members will include disabled citizens and representatives from employment training and placement services, relevant sectors of the medical establishment, building industry, business, and educational institutions.
