Day Support, Non-Center Based

Virginia Independence Training Organization's (VITO) Non-Center Based Day Support Program provides a planned day program for individuals with developmental and/ or autistic disabilities.  According to expressed interests and preferences, participants become involved in their communities in a manner that allows them to develop relationships, skills, abilities and an improved sense of personal value.  Staff supports individuals to learn new skills through community activities such as shopping, banking, using library services and other individualized activities.



Each individual will be assessed to determine eligibility for a VITO Service.  Once accepted into the Program, the Individual’s strengths, needs, and preferences will be identified through Person-Centered Planning so that an Individual Service Plan (ISP) or Person-Centered Plan (PCP) can be developed.  The ISP/PCP will include identified outcomes so that the individual can live more independently.
