Who We Are
Tax Relief for Elderly and Disabled. The City of Staunton has adopted a provision of the Code of Virginia which provides real estate tax exemptions for qualified property owners who are not less than 65 years of age, or if under 65, are permanently and totally disabled, and who meet certain other eligibility requirements.
Eligibility requirements are listed on the city website. Please contact the office of the Commissioner of the Revenue (540-332-3829) for details and to make application. Applications must be filed by May 1.
