Therapeutic Day Treatment, Children and Adolescents, Charlottesville

Region Ten's Therapeutic Day Treatment (TDT) serves children and youth, ages three through 21, with behavioral or emotional issues that are impairing their functioning at school and who are in need of daily and intensive intervention to address these issues. Common issues in children and youths that benefit from the program include are anxiety, depression, disruptive and oppositional behaviors, hyperactivity and impulsivity and who lack of age-appropriate anger management or social skills. The program helps children and youth who experience these issues by using behavioral plans, coordination with parents and school staff, psycho-education, and skills training. The program uses individual and small group sessions and support throughout the school day to help the child or youth meet their goals and goals identified by parents and teachers. All program staff meet state guidelines for behavioral health providers and use an evidence-based curriculum provided by Lions Quest.
