Who We Are
Katie's Place Community Day Program at Scrugg's Cottage is licensed by the Virginia Department of Behavioral Health and is managed by St. Vincents Home. Katie's Place is a nonprofit whose mission is to serve adults with intellectual or developmental disabilities in the Roanoke Valley. Katie's Place provides opportunities to learn and develop social skills and daily living skills through gardening, cooking, cleaning, volunteering and community outings. A hallmark of Katie’s Place is our community partner volunteer program, where we help for local non-profits with much-needed tasks and in return, learn valuable job skills.
